Lately I've been seeing a lot of people using "would" in RP. IE *She would put her sword away*
Do not do that.
Against argument A: "It gives the other party time to react"
No, it doesn't. What it does is makes people expect a 'but'. Woulds are always followed by a reason why some action cannot be taken. "I would do X, but I can't because Y". It's both grammatically incorrect and a incomplete action in RP.
